27 Days to PSSA

February 4th

We had a building level administration meeting today to discuss PSSA issues. We are putting into place a few programs we used last year. Starting immediately after the writing assessment is completed; we will be offering a PSSA prep class in the morning before school. This is open to any 11th grade student who is interested and will be staffed by one of our reading specialists and one of our math teachers. Last year we held a raffle for all students who attended all sessions. The junior class was kind enough to donate a prom tickets and the raffle winner received a free ticket to the junior prom.

We are also currently examining the schedules of our IEP students. On a case by case basis we are going to replace one day of phys ed with PSSA prep with a reading or math specialist. Once the exams are over we restore their schedule.

28 Days to PSSA

February 3rd

We met with all the writing proctors today to prepare for testing next week. We went over the testing schedule, format, and procedures. Since we are giving the writing assessment during English classes during the school day we needed to specifically address those students who will require small group accommodations. We have set up a location, which will be proctored by a special education teacher that will accommodate all of these students throughout the day. The tests are bundled, the class lists are firmed up, the proctors have met, and we are ready to go.
